Dear friend:
I heard through the grapevine that you were thinking about taking an
Anatomy course. I have recently taken a course in Basic Anatomy, online,
through Universal Class. It was fun! The course was filled with
interactive games, online movies and different activities related to
Anatomy. You know as well as I do, that holding a full-time job and being
a mother of two takes up most of my time but that is what made this course
so great. I got to work at my own pace and enjoyed the whole experience.
The course was broken down into 21 lessons. I learned about each of the
body’s systems and how the parts work together as a whole. I learned
valuable information in every chapter. It is very interesting how every
system works and interacts with each other. It was fascinating to find out
that the spinal cord is only about as big around as an adult thumb but has
one of the most important jobs around. I learned that men and women have
12 pairs of ribs and about 5% of people are born with one or more extra
ribs! Did you know that the skull is made up of 30 different bones? I also
learned that the smallest bone in your whole body is called stirrup and is
just behind your eardrum but the strongest bone is the jawbone and it is
the only bone that can truly move. I found out that the left side of the
brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain
controls the left side of the body. How weird is that!
Did you know your hand consists of a grand total of 54 bones? Did you know
that when you are born, your hip bones are separated and they join
together as you get older? What is the longest bone in your body? You will
find out if you take this course. Do you know what the body’s largest
organ is? It’s the skin!
Overall, I highly recommend that you consider “Universal Class”. When I
think of my experience, four things come to mind:
how simple it was to enroll
how straightforward it was to send in lessons
how lessons are graded and returned in a timely fashion
and finally, how much I actually learned!
If you are interested in taking an Anatomy course, go to the following
page: Online Classes
It’s that simple! You are on your way to learning more about the human
body, your body.
Good luck and I am convinced that your experience will be as gratifying as
mine was.
Take care!

This from new students after just one lesson in our
Anatomy course.
Hi. I've just joined your class,
& I must say that you have a very interesting teaching concept. I like it.
I've emailed my sister for her granddaughter, & I've also e-mailed my
grandson. They will have so much fun with this. It also helps us "elders"
to remember a little easier.
Thanx. Sandi.

I read all of the 'Body Facts' to my husband and we both learned a thing
or two! Can't wait to get started on the spine! E.C.

I enjoyed this lesson and all of the neat facts. I'm looking forward to
the lessons ahead. I really think I will learn a lot during this course.

Thanks for the quick response and encouraging words. There are so many
fascinating things about the human body that I think no matter how much
you think you know, there is always something evolving or something new
that you haven't been exposed to. Great class!

What an interesting website and class. I know it is written with
children in mind, but there is some interesting information there. And
what an easy and FUN way to learn...Well onto the quiz..

I want you to know what an inspiration this course has
already been to me. My class and I have already gone through 12
chapters of our old Science series, one of which was about plants. The new
series that was adopted was a scary thing for me, I have only heard the
bad things about it from other teachers. After signing up for this course,
I took the BIG plunge into the "scary book." ha-ha
The course lit a fire inside of me, I thought had died out, considering
school is almost out (teacher and student burnout). With your direction, I
started surfing the internet for activities to do with my kids...I now
have 2 binders... one is strictly to do with this class and things about
seeds, plants, flowers, etc... the other one is just full of spring and
Easter ideas, that can go along with plants.
The binder for this class: 27 Science activities; 28 Art activities:
Endless poems, stories, story starters, stationary; Math activities will
involve seeds, plants, flowers, etc... while learning graphing,
multiplication, division; My favorite thing in Reading is my Accelerated
Reading Bulletin Board with tulips, also will do story comprehension,
fact/nonfact, main idea worksheets revolving around plants; I have 3 games
so far; there are several community businessmen I will invite to the
classroom to talk to my kids about seeds, plants, etc...I plan on writing
my 20 parents a letter and laying out my plan for plants that will take us
through till school is out. I spent 3 days of my spring break, this past
week, in my classroom, redesigning it around plants, seeds, flowers. My
kids and teacher's aide won't know what to think!!
Thanks again for your wonderful class!

My children and I are really enjoying
this classes. It is nice to have the lessons and visuals so organized. I
like to have a lesson plan, such as yours as a base, and then expand upon
it as my children's interests allow. It's nice to share ideas with you and
I would not have thought of or found the Elmo video (which my younger -and
older- children have had fun watching-more than once). This course has
been very good for us, as we are doing the spring preparation work for our
garden. We also have LOTS AND LOTS of raspberries and strawberries to care
for, transplant, etc., ditches to dig and clean weeds out, etc., etc. I
had to laugh the other day, as I was out with my 5 year old son and he was
helping me dig a ditch around our garden spot, he had to examine all the
roots of the various weeds that he could get his hands on, and explain to
me why the weeds had roots and were so hard to get out of the ground. I am
amazed at how little children can learn so easily when they are actively
interested and involved in hands-on activities!! THANK YOU!!!
Mariann O. and 6 kids!!!
